Allllriiigghttyy then, for my second album review i chose to do the album i bought last, which happened to be Behemoths brand new release 'Abyssus Abyssum Invocat'.
To be fair and honest, its nothing exaclty new, for those who do not know, let met break it down for you.
Abyussus Abyssum Invocat (Top) is a re-release/reissue combo of their EP's Conjuration (Left) and Slaves Shall Serve (Right). Now Conjuration is an EP branching from the Zos Kia Cultus (Bottom Left) era (2003)
and Slaves Shall Serve EP coming from the Demigod (bottom right) era (2005).
Now, the whole purpose of the Reissue is that, these two EP's have become rather hard to find these days, so Behemoth puts both of them onto one cool looking cd!
An extra goodie to this, is that inside the digibook, are words straight from Behemoth themselves explaining why they have done this and a little about what was happening at the time (of recording/touring i presume)
For collectors as myself and for fans it is definatly something to look for.
What comes on each disc is 1 unreleased song (2 in total) a few covers, on these cd's you will find covers
of the like of Danzig (Until you Call on the Dark), Venom (Welcome To Hell) and even Nine Inch Nails! (Wish) as most Behemoth EP's Unreleased Covers and Live tracks on their EP's are pretty normal.
Now perhaps you might ask, ''Why should i buy this instead of the individual Ep's themselves?" Besides the fact that they are quite hard to find, and if you did find them, you most likely wont get them cheap either.
You wont get the bit of reading material, their are 2 bonus live tracks (one on each cd) of ''Lam'' on Conjuration and ''Demigod'' on Slaves Shall Serve, both taken from 2010.
Ill also say the Live songs are amazing! if you dont believe me, take their live album 'At The Arena Ov Aion' or their 2nd latest release 'Evangelia Heretika' and fell the raw power that is BEHEMOTH!
In Conclusion, ill say that for a collector and or a fan owning this is going to look great with your cd's, BUT if you really dont know the band or are just starting to get into them, i would not recommend this...if that is the case i recommend getting one of their albums first! ''The Apostasy" seems to be one of their most popular albums but Demigod hold my favorite :)
4.6/5 for die hard fans
3/5 for everyone else
PS: Those who know about Nergal, do not worry! Behemoth are starting to tour again on their 'Phoenix Rising Tour'' in October of this year, starting in Poland then eventually going to add more, and work their way through Europe,Asia, Australia and the USA! ''Stay Strong Never Give In!"
